What is The First Baptist Church of Pitman?

The First Baptist Church of Pitman is a community of nurturing followers of Jesus Christ. You find us in many places. We are in the schools, the banks, the local businesses. You can find us on a soccer field, in the kitchen or in the hospital. And on Sunday mornings, you can find us at 30 North Broadway in Pitman, worshipping the Lord who has given us life to share. Everywhere we are, we are seeking to live out our mission. You can find our mission statement in the column to the right. Notice that it is active and when we live it, people's lives are transformed. God's grace (read unconditional love) pours into us. So if you are looking for a church that is more than a building, but a body of people who are loving God and loving God's world, then First Baptist Church of Pitman might be just the church you are looking for.

This Week at First Baptist

Sunday, October 5: The biblical image of a vineyard was classically a picture of Israel, God's chosen people. They were chosen for the envious responsibility of revealing Yahweh to the rest of the world. But they got mired in internal fighting and abuses which greatly diminished their ability to fulfill their mission. In telling the story of the vineyard, Jesus points out their sad rejection of the Messiah. But there is hope: new stewards to run the vineyard and produce fruit for the Master. Pastor Reeder's message is "Trouble in the Vineyard" from Matt hew 21:33-46.  We hope you will join us.

Songs this Sunday include: Jesus Lover of My Soul, Christ is Made the Sure Foundation, You Never Let Go, Grace That Is Greater THan All Our Sin, Blest Be The Tie.

Scripture This Sunday: Exodus 20:1-4,7-9,12-20; Matthew 21:33-46.

Coming Up Soon

CROP WALK is coming up on October 19th. Starting at our own parking lot, the journey will take us into Glassboro and back. All pledges will help feed hungry people here in Pitman and around the world. See Stephanie Manbeck for a form to get pledges.

OUR NEXT EKKLESIA is November 16 after worship. We'll have a covered dish style lunch and grow deeper in our understanding of the spiritual formation of Christ within us. We hope to have Dr. Francesca Nuzzolese from Palmer Seminary with us to help us along the path.
