The First Baptist Church of Pitman is a community of nurturing followers of Jesus Christ. You find us in many places. We are in the schools, the banks, the local businesses. You can find us on a soccer field, in the kitchen or in the hospital. And on Sunday mornings, you can find us at 30 North Broadway in Pitman, worshipping the Lord who has given us life to share. God's grace (read unconditional love) pours into us. Sunday, October 5: The biblical image of a vineyard was classically a picture of Israel, God's chosen people. They were chosen for the envious responsibility of revealing Yahweh to the rest of the world. But they got mired in internal fighting and abuses which greatly diminished their ability to fulfill their mission. In telling the story of the vineyard, Jesus points out their sad rejection of the Messiah. But there is hope: new stewards to run the vineyard and produce fruit for the Master.
